Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes
City of Sebastian
Recreation Advisory Committee
April 24, 2006
Called to order by the Chairman:
Roll Call: The following members were present
Mr. Miller, Mr. Barth, Mr. Kagan, Mr. Wright, Mrs. Keaton, Mrs. Merlin, was Absent
Staff members present were Linda Kinchen, Recording Secretary, Chris McCarthy, Parks
and Recreation Superintendent, Al Minner, City Manager
Approval of Minutes: Motion to approve the minutes by Mr. Wright, Second Mr. Kagan,
passed unanimously
Old Business: NONE
New Business: 1) Mr. Minner speaks to the members about current project status in the
parks
1) Yacht Club renovations are to begin
2) Community Center is 75% completed
3) Riverview Park has $200,000 to complete bandshell to be put out to bid
4) Generator Room at the garage will be completed
Mr. Miller says can't give Mr. Minner their best input today because they have not all
visited the park sites on their list.
Mr. Miller asks if a location has been chosen for the new community center building
Mr. Minner states not at this time.
Mr. Wright asks what input came from the residents about Bryant Court Park
Wants to know what still has to be put at Filbert Street Park to complete it.
Mr. Miller wants to start having workshops for the public and what about surveys
Chris says start with the Stonecrop street park for a workshop and then the new
community center.
It was decided that a workshop would be held at 6:30 after the regular meeting next
month to discuss what the residents would like to see at Stonecrop. Done by Motion by
Mr. Wright second Mr. Barth passed unanimously.
Mr. Miller asks for an advertisement on the web, tv ~nd newspaper for the workshop

Staff Comments - Chris says grant to be approved at council meeting for replacing all
trees damaged by hurricanes
Mr. Miller states that all agenda items must be to the secretary one week in advance of
the meetings
