Recreation Advisory Committee
January 22, 2007
Called to order by the Chairman:
Roll Call: The following members were present
Mr. Barth, Mr. Kagan, Mr. Wright, Mrs. Falco,
Mrs. Keaton, resigned then left, Mr. McCarthy, Absent
Staff members present were Linda Kinchen, Recording Secretary, Chris McCarthy, Parks
and Recreation Superintendent,
Approval of Minutes: Motion to approve the minutes of 11/27/06 by Mr. Barth second
Mr. Kagan, passed unanimously
Old Business: A motion to change the order of business was made by Mrs. Falco second
Mr. Kagan Passed unanimously.
Mr. Wright requested that the committee recognize and accept the resignation of Jessica
Keaton.
Requests that Walter McCarthy be removed for non-attendance.
Member Vacancies to be posted on website
Mr. Kagan will talk to Youth Football and Little League about attending a meeting
Mrs. Falco will talk to Gymnastics per new business item 4
Old Business:
Mr. Wright says will get followup from Chris but also ties in with #12
Gang activity need recreational outlets.
1) Stonecrop project -Dog Park and Hardee park
Chris says ready to go on all three waiting on the City Manager
2) Yacht Club -ready by April
New Business:
Adopt a Park Program on Website -Neighborhood people near the parks
volunteer to provide information on needs, activities safety. Website to ask them to come
to the meeting.

3) Master Plan — goes with item #3 decided to hold till after the election.

5) Sebastian Preserve — Stormwater Park
Asks the committee to think about uses in the Stormwater Park
6) Sebastian Harbor — Purchased by the County 160 acres of wetlands $13 million
price tag
7&8) Mr. Wright speaks about the state level priority and working on North County
project. Will bring map to next meeting.
9) Waterfront issues — We can recommend things.
10) Golf Course Needs — Ask the Pro to attend and advise
11) Tennis Courts — Sebastian Friendly Tennis Club info about the courts

Mrs. Falco says should put in a roller rink at Riverview Park for open outdoor
skating.
