N d • T � 1 T 5 r r r O N N C p S 7 M a Q O a ro Q Q 0 OD FLORENCE ROBERTA LAXTON OWENS Mrs. Florence Roberta "Flossie" Laxton Owens, 82, of Micco, FL, died November 3, 2007 peacefully at her residence, surrounded by her family, after a brief, but courageous, second battle with cancer. She was born January 11, 1925, in Media, PA, and moved to Micco in 1951 from her birthplace, to the "white house with green trim" on U. S. #1. To this day, she still lived in the same house and proudly referred to it in the same way. For most of her adult life she was a stay at home Mom, for which we were very thankful. Along with her sister, Sara Songey, she operated Jims' Diner in Micco, in the mid 1960's. She then went to work for Harris Corporation for 17 years and retired as a senior inspector. Survivors include her husband of 40 years, David E. Owens of Micco, FL; daughter, Linda K. Coleman and her husband, Donnie; son, Charles A. Evans, Jr.; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; all of Sebastian, FL; her sister, Roberta Bouchelle; her brother John Laxton both of Jacksonville, FL; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband of 20 years, Charles A Evans, Sr; sisters, Sara Songey, Charlotte Hicks; and brothers, Robert and Frank Laxton. Sadly, she leaves her best friend, who loved and protected her and layed by her side till the end "Reba". SERVICES: Visitation will be 5-7 p.m.,Thursday, November 8, 2007 at the Strunk Funeral Home, Sebastian, FL. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m., in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Buddy Johns and Rev. Dexter Goude officiating. She will be deeply missed by her family.
