I'm going to E -mail him and explain that those lots that were available then are no Longer available now, there was a Marcus Sims interred there in 2007 He is in Unit 1 , Blk. 25, lot 10 . and his wife is to be buried next To him , she will go into Unit 1 , Blk. 25 , lot 9, there is a double Blk. Marker installed on the site. prior to this, Mrs. Sims contacted me And came in to the cemetery. We had a discussion about the family Plots at that time I instructed Mrs. Sims that she would have to get Permission from the person who was in charge of the family plots to Let them know of her intentions. at a later date prior to Marcus going In she contacted myself and said that a Carroll Sims said it would be Alright for her husband to be interred there. also in the year 2000 a Mrs, Mildred C. Wilson was interred in Unit 1 , Blk. 25 , lot 11 / this Was the mother of Marcus sims . so as it stands thre are no lots left i In the family pl;ot of Vick / sims . Mr. Vick 3///c- The schematic that I gave you years ago is no longer any good ! All three of those spaces have been taken by the Sims family However, you are allowed to put in a existing lot Or space , (1) one cremains , For example If your father is Horace Vick And he was a cremains you could put your brother in with your Father as another cremains. which would be two cremains in One lot. And as for the fee the city would charge you $ 50 .00 for a drop — in That is if your brother was a cremains and mailed thru the Post Office To: city of Sebastian c/o Sebastian city hall 1225 main street Sebastian , fla. 32958 If you have any questions, or something isn't clear please give me a call Or E -mail me so I can clear it up fpr you room: rvick6 [mailto:rvick6 @cox.net] Sent: Sunday, February 28, 2010 1:40 PM To: Kip Kelso Cc: Carolyn Koegler Subject: Cemetery Plots Blk 25 Unit #1 I wanted to follow up on my voice mail Feb 27th regarding the available sites remaining in block 25. A few years ago you were kind enough to provide me with a copy of the remaining ones originally purchased in 1938. On Feb 27th our brother Horace C. Vick Jr. passed away in Florida and requested that his remains be buried near our parents Helen and Horace Vick. Both my sister and I also may have an interest in being buried in the same section. Please advise if there are still three available and the necessary steps to reserve them. For my brother Horace, please advise what administrative steps and documents the city requires to consummate arrangements for burial. He was a resident of Florida. Please respond to both of us with your findings. Kind Regards, Richard Vick Mr. Vick I as of yet have been to city hall I will be going today, as far as the schematics go I flagged all the lots in question and they are correct with the schematic that I Gave you years ago. I probed lot 15 again and I may have hit something , of course it was not a vault, if said lot was intended for A melton sims he was suppose to be in lot 15 , there is no way of finding out what is in lot 15 unless we go down about 3 to 4 feet . I'm sure the city doesn't want to pursue that course, as for the lot that your sister put the marker on for your grand parents I probed that area as well , and I didn't hit a vault there. Anette was buried in 1952 that is stated on the marker if that is the case there was not a vault involved I 'm of the opinion that unless we find information that A Melton Sims was Buried in melbourne we have to go with the city records as is stated , and when the city clerk returns I will present this issue to her as she has the final desicision on the matter, From: rvick6 [mailto:rvick6 @cox.net] Sent: Wednesday, March 03, 2010 3:04 PM To: Kip Kelso Cc: Carolyn Koegler; Richard Vick Subject: City of Sebastian Cemetery Lots Kip, As we discussed this morning, I am providing you with both my sister's and my email and address. This information will provide direct contact with both us for the purpose of providing an updated schematic of lots in block 25 Unit #1 and recorded information that you may be able to uncover with the city and this will be scanned and sent via email. Also, to confirm that no remains were found in lot 15 and it has now been reserved in my name for Vick family use. We have agreed to pursue efforts to determine if our grandfather is actually buried in lot 14. My mother (Helen Simes Vick) believed he was buried in Melbourne. However, we have no written record of that. As we discussed, why would my grandmother have taken all of those lots if he wasn't buried there? Carolyn may be able to offer some insight as to why mother felt he was buried in Melbourne. You indicated there are two municipal cemeteries in Melbourne to search records. That may help resolve this mystery if you don't uncover something to confirm he is in lot 14. Thanks again for your continued efforts and assistance.
