Recreation Advisory Committee
June 23, 2008
Called to order by the Chairman: Roll Call: The following members were present
Mr. Wright, Mrs. White, Mrs. Falco, Mrs. Brown
Staff members present were Linda Kinchen, Recording Secretary, Chris McCarthy,
Approval of Minutes: 4-28-08 Motion by Mrs. Falco, Second Mrs. White passed
unanimously, 5-19-08 Motion by Mrs. Falco second Mrs. White. passed unanimously
Old Business: None
New Business: Rich Stringer and Rebecca Grohall both absent
Capital Improvement Budget :Mrs. Brown asks what the Airport Park Is. Members are
concerned because it says they requested it and there was no discussion of this matter at
any meeting.
Cindi speaks regarding the color wheel and that no one is here with it.
Rich Stringer speaks at 6PM on Sunshine Law
Old Business: Schumann Park to be an item every month until finished. Also Riverview
Park
Chairman requests that everyone go to Schumann Park before the next meeting to look at
it.
Public Input: None
Chairmans Matters: Speaks about politics wants to hold a discussion of major recreation
needs after the election is over with the city council.
Members Matters; Mrs. Falco happy with the extra Riverview Park Money in the Capital
budget
Mrs. White says she met with Chris McCarthy and Chris from Landscape Company at
Riverview Park also went to Chamber about moving the concerts to the River. Chamber
head was excited things were going on at Riverview. Garden Club will take care of plants
under the sign if there is irrigation.
Mrs. Brown excited about green market -hope it gets started.

Mr. Wright says if you want something the proper way is to make a recommendation to
the committee at the meeting and then let the committee direct Chris as a whole.
Mrs. Falco made a recommendation to hold movies in the park second by Mrs. Brown
passed unanimously. Chris will discuss with the City Manager.
Next meeting will be 7-28-08
Old business: Color wheel, Schumann, Riverview, Disc of Parks and Rec improvements.
