Recreation Advisory Committee
September 22, 2008
Called to order by the Chairman: Roll Call: The following members were present
Mr. Wright, Mrs. Falco, Mrs. Brown, Mr. Seaman
Staff members present were Linda Kinchen, Recording Secretary, Chris McCarthy,
Rebbeca Grohall
Approval of Minutes: 7-28-08 Motion by Mrs. Falco, Second Mrs. Brown passed
unanimously,
Old Business: Color wheel discussion Rebbeca states that City Manager says no painting
of pavilions in different colors
Mrs. White arrives at 5:37 PM
Riverview Park Fountain installed today should be operational tomorrow
Schumann Park -Chris says engineering interns working on drawings now. Will supply
them when finished.
Committee wants two courts and one full basketball court Maybe we could put a survey
in the next Pelican Brief stating yes or no
New Business: None
Joanne says thanks for lights at the Garden Club Park wants to know if we can move the
sign at Riverview Park
Old Business: wants to know if we can get a price for spraying Garden Club Park
Public Input: None
Chairman's matters: Says should only focus on Riverview and Schumann for now until
complete - 1St of next year bring back the dog park, community center, etc.

plan Recreational impact fees and map of parks
Mrs. Brown has none
Mrs. White -could we visit or pick a park for future info - Azine/S Wimbrow -Keen/ S

Mrs. Falco not in favor of the Main Street Project
Mr. Seaman has nothing
Staff- Chris says Stormwater pond on Periwinkle and Seashore has been finished and is
now a park
The Stormwater Park on Englar is to be discussed at the next meeting.
Next meeting is at Riverview Park on October 27th at 5:30 PM in the big pavilion
