Community. They are available July 14th, 16, or 17th at 4:00 P.M. It was the consensus
of the committee that Friday, July 17, 2009 at 4:00 P.M. was the best time. Ms. Grohall
will set up the visit. The July calendar will be regular meeting on Monday, July 13th, field
trip to Pt. Salemo on Friday, July 17th, next regular meeting on Monday, August 10th. Car
pooling arrangements will be discussed at the next meeting. Ms. Grohall has not heard

FUTURE USES ACTIVITY
At this time, Ms. Grohall set up the Sebastian Working Waterfront board and instructed
committee members to discuss and write down their ideas for what they would like to
see happen at the two properties, Sebastian Entertainment and the old Hurricane
Harbor. She read the acceptable uses from the grant document.
Suggestions from the committee included the following:
Workshops and exhibitions
Net making and repair
Boat building
Crab and fish traps
Catch, clean and fillet fish
Fish identification
Recipes
Local clam growth aquarium
Local environmental impacts of residents on the commercial fishing industry
A fish shack accessory not stand-alone to prepare and provide

Messrs. Adams and Bowen explained to the committee what a commercial fishing boat
requires for dockage, loading, processing and said their territory runs from Pt. Canaveral
south the Jupiter. Both Mr. Minner and Ms. Grohall emphasized the difficulty in
acquiring DEP permits to dredge the lagoon at the Sebastian Entertainment docks,
which are too shallow for commercial fishing vessels. Ms. Grohall added that the
Department of Agriculture will be on board once the contracts for these sites are signed.
(NOTE: Mayor Richard Gillmor arrived at the meeting at 6:20 P. M.)
Other ideas discussed were having an on-site motor mechanic; invite local chef's to
demonstrate their specialties, and a boating school.
7. PUBLIC INPUT
