Recreation Advisory Committee Special Meeting
June 22, 2009
Called to order by the Chairman: Roll Call: The following members were present
Mr. Wright, Mr. Adams, Mr. Pelletier, Mrs. White and Mr. Sims, Mr. Seaman, Mr. Van
Arsdall,
Staff members present were Chris McCarthy, Parks Superintendent
Approval of Minutes: 5/18/09 Motion by Mr. Seaman, second Mrs. White Passed
unanimously
Old Business: Schumann Park Update by Chris construction to begin on Monday
Riverview Park update by Chris, completed, thanks to Jim for taking care of the
fountain
Jim Sunnycalb Marque on the south side the lights are out, sprinkler goes 4 or 5 feet
also could we have a bike rack and also on Main Street a fountain would be nice good
for wildlife.
Easy Street Park late at night kids are in the water maybe we could change the sign also
need a post to chain the water bowl that keeps disappearing
Stormwater Park Sign at the park has already been moved needs benches and dog
bags
Dog Park fencing being installed along with irrigation and electric work will be done
next week.
Barber Street football field is 80 ong Don says should it be 100d can it be 100X
New Business: George St Park Rosemary not present Chris will need to meet with Al
to see if it can be ADA accessible
Public Input None
Chairmans Matters: FRDAP Grant can be used for land purchase, renovations and
development of trail Sept 1 to Sept 15 is deadline $200,000 max. Need athletic fields
acquisition of land no specific project in mind
A motion to discuss with the City Manager by Mr. Sims, second Mrs. White passed
unanimous. Mr. Sims asked if past members asks about more athletic fields Chris says
no

Members matters: Mrs. Sims asks if we had any public comments about what people
want Chris says no the website says come to the meeting
Don says need a grand opening and article in newsletter about the Stormwater Park
Staff Comments: 4 of July weekend coming up
