Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes
Called to order by the Vice Chairman: Roll Call: The following members were present
Mr. Adams, Mrs. White, Mr. Seaman, Mr. Van Arsdall, Mr. Sims, Absent Excused and
Mr. Pelletier and Mr. Wright were absent
Staff members present were Chris McCarthy, Parks Superintendent, Linda Kinchen,
Secretary
Approval of Minutes: 8/31/09 Motion by Mr. Seaman, second Mr. Adams Passed
unanimously
Old Business: Riverview Park No comments from members Chris says getting ready
for the clambake
Stormwater Park Chris says benches and trash receptacles are installed marking out
the trails and signage to follow. Mrs. White asks what is longest 2 miles there are no
picnic tables Mrs. White says will talk to Pelican Island about using the trails for the kids.
Easy Street Park Sunny says people are back fishing again and catching bass
FRDAP Grant —in Tallahassee waiting for an answer
Mrs. White asks if we need to give input on the canopy. Chris says no will get them infor
on the canopy for the next meeting.
New Business:
Schumann Park Mrs. White went by with friends and says looks good. Tennis people
impressed Mr. Van Arsdall asks if any of the high school kids play there and Chris says
yes. Final walk thru with contractor is tomorrow.
Dog Park visit Jay asks about small dogs and clean up Chris says they are pretty good
at cleaning up and there is a section for small dogs inside the big fence.
All Other Parks Comments:
Mr. Van Arsdall says all the parks are close and convenient to each neighborhood came
from a town in Indiana where they only had one park so ours are nice.
Mrs. White says Barber and Acorn terr and Celtic and Crown are in the capital budget
we should visit and decide what we want there

Staff Comments: Craft Club 1 st show this Saturday operation xmas child is underway
Halloween costume contest is 10 -31 at 10AM at Riverview park
Mrs. White says she has heard comments that we have good parks and boat trailer
parking
Mr. Seaman asks if the trees will be removed for the parking renovations on the River
Chris states should not have to remove any in fact more are going in
Next meeting date is 10 -26 -09

Mr. Van Arsdall asks if we can put in picnic tables at the Garden Club Park
New Business: Barber And Acorn Park visit
Sunny says he gets plenty of compliments about Riverview park
