HomeMy WebLinkAbout02062010NRB Field TripField Trip CR 512 Project Saturday, February 6, 2010 Those who attended were as follows: Eric Spokas, member Albert Alvarez, member Steven James, volunteer Bill Eggleston, volunteer Margie Reynolds, Staff Donna Cyr, Staff Rick Guarino, Staff We arrived at project site at 8:OOam and began work shortly after. On February 6, 2010 the Natural Resources Board of Sebastian met at the CR 512 project area, which is located behind the city's Public Works Compound, to do a pepper busting and clearing of invasive plants. The participants started cutting out Brazilian pepper and other invasive exotic vegetation. City employees were brought in to help and haul the brush away. We had 2 volunteers, 2 board members, and 3 city staff in attendance to total 27 hours labor. The group succeeded in removing 5 dump truck Toads to total 5 tons of Brazilian pepper, and 1 trash bag of recyclable material to total 8 pounds of garbage.
