There is a slide show of the dogs, rules and a map on the site. Mr. Adams asks if there will be a link to the city website the answer is no. Public Input Maria Kokasi says there is a hole in the fence and asks who should they call if there is a problem. The Answer is Chris McCarthy. Also asks if they can have some dirt for the mud puddle. Sunny says Geo quit and didn't return the key. Hopes he turns it in to someone else on the committee. Chairmans Matters: None Members Matters: Mr. Van Arsdall says construction on Barber Street is causing a problem for the parking by the soccer and football fields. The police were giving tickets to everyone who was parked in the swale area. Chris says they will do that if the parking lots are not filled before you park there but he will talk to the chief. Mr. Pelletier Nothing Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes Mr. Danise says went to two EAR meetings and the city is in good shape recreation wise. He would like the committee to give thought to meeting every other month rather than monthly since nothing seems to be happening right now that they need to discuss. Parks and Recreation Meeting April 26, 2010 Page two Mr. Sims says we should make this an agenda item for the next meeting so Mrs. White can give input. Mr. Adams wants monthly, Mr. Seaman says doesn't care, Mr. Pelletier ok for every other month and Mr. Van Arsdall could go either way Mr. Seaman says thanks to Sunny and Jake for all they do. Mr. Adams asks about the two tables for Riverview Park that were discussed last month Chris says he doesn't see a problem and that his people should be able to take care of it. Mr. Sims thanks the public and Chris for everything parks department does. Staff Comments: Chris updates the committee on the CIP budget. Next meeting is May 24 2010 Agenda the same new business Meeting frequency Meeting adjourned at 6:30 PM Approved May 24, 2010 Regular Meeting By Chairman, Parks and Recreation RECREATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE AGENDA ITEM RECOMMENDATION: That regular Recreation Advisory monthly meeting be changed to quarterly meetings, unless Chairman, Parks Recreation Director, or two Committee members request a meeting between regular scheduled monthly meetings. RATIONALE: Being that all Recreation Advisory Committee members and their email address is now listed on the City of Sebastian website and that during the last quarter, no meaningful business was conducted during these meetings and that the financial climate of the City, County and State constitutes examination of needed financial expenditures and the savings of electricity and paid city staff would be more beneficial than the open discussions of those missed monthly meetings. ALTERNATIVE TO RECOMMENDATION: That Recreation Advisory Committee meeting is held every other month to examine any possible inconveniences of quarterly meetings. IMPACT ON SERVICES: Seen as negligible, possibly more residential contact with committee members. John L Danise, Jr. Name of individual submitting item
