RECREATION COMMITTEE
MEETING MINUTES
AUGUST 29, 2011
The Sebastian Parks and Recreation Committee was called to order by the Chairman.
Roll Call was taken and the following members were present: Mr. Tenerowicz, Mrs.
White, Mrs. Webster, Mr. Adams, Mr. Scott, Mr, Sims and Mr. Simpson were Absent
excused.
Staff members present were Linda Kinchen, Secretary; Al Minner, City Manager,
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Mr. Tenerowicz made a motion to approve the minutes from the July 25th, 2011 meeting.
Second by Mr. Adams passed unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS
CIP UPDATE: Mr. Minner gives an update — no changes September final approval by
council
PAVILLION:
Location settled will be put at the tennis courts
SCHUMANN RESTROOMS:
Construction to begin shortly
BARK PARK:
Staff will check with Parks Superintendent to get this going
Working on the water fountain repairs — should be resolved soon.
NEW BUSINESS:
None

PUBLIC INPUT:
Jim Sunnycalb — would like to see the Dog Park rules on Channel 25
Mr. Minner says not a problem
CHAIRMENS MATTERS;
Met with Kristen from Kayak's etc — spoke to her about the blueways she has a
map and will check and use the waterways
MEMBERS MATTERS;
Mrs. Webster asks about the movie in the park
Mr. Adams — None
Mr. Tenerowicz — Asks about the shrubs at Schumann — Mr; Minner says they are
to stay. Also says the Blossom fountain is net working — Told about a lightning
strike and we are working on getting it fixed. Can we replace the tire swing at
Filbert. Says was a good party at the dog park for the anniversary.
Mrs. White — welcomes Kevin to the committee.
Mr. Scott — Happy to be here

Next meeting September 26th, 2011
With no other business to come before the Parks and Recreation Committee, Mrs. White
declared the meeting adjourned at 7:15 PM.
