couldn't make Earth Day or weren't interested in participating this year. Mr. Northcott

would be interested in participating in the event. At this time there are no food vendors
for Earth Day. Mr. Alvarez is going to check to see if Las Palmas Restaurant is
available. The DJ will not be able to make the event this year due to prior commitments.
Ms. Graves asked if the City had a portable sound system with an auxiliary music source
that could be used for the event and Ms. Cyr said she would check on that.
Ms. Schnee offered information that the I. R. Master Gardeners is part of U.F. Extension
Office and they meet at the North County Library and she will contact them.
Mr. Gordian contacted a local ice cream truck vendor and will get him an application. He
also contacted a lady named Nancy that does catering in town; he will get her an
application also.
Ms. Sieferd mentioned that everyone should be forwarding emails to all board members
to keep everyone in the loop with who they have been in contact with as far as Earth
Day goes. As long as it is one way information only this doesn't break the Sunshine law.
The board liked the idea of the different crafts that Ms. Graves brought up for the Natural
Resources Board table. Everyone will start collecting egg cartons and jars. Ms. Graves
let the board know that Rosemary Bostinto would not be having a table for the pinecone
birdseed feeders.
At the February meeting, Ms Bender said she would contact Michael's Craft Store
regarding donating supplies for our craft/activities table at the event. Ms. Graves will try
some other art supply places in case we're not able to get anything from Michael's. The
board secretary did update the board on Ms. Bender working on advertising and how
hard it was to get a hold of anyone from the Press Journal.
Ms. Schnee mentioned that in the past we had a car dealership bring a hybrid car to
show off at Earth Day if anyone wanted to try again. Ms. Schnee asked about Waste
Management having a table. She said they offered to come to Earth Day and show a
video. Mr. Alvarez said he talked to them and they couldn't make it.
Ms. Sieferd said she would contact Jackie at HALO to see if they were coming to Earth
Day.
April Price updated the board on the Great Smoky Mountains raffle giveaway. She is
working on Eco Tourism with Michael Hughes of the Earth Day Journal. They are
working together on a weekend exchange. We will raffle off a weekend to Gatlinburg,
TN and their Earth Day event will give away a weekend to the Sebastian area. Ms. Price
said the hotel stays would be the hardest to get. She has been in contact with Capt.
Hiram's and Kayaks Etc. Ms. Price will be at the April meeting with an update on the
giveaway. Mr. Gordian asked if there was anything on Channel 25 and website asking
for vendors. The board secretary answered there was not. Ms. Cyr will contact the MIS
department regarding getting this on both Channel 25 and the website. Ms. Schnee
passed out a list of places that she contacted last year for advertising Earth Day. A copy
will be emailed to Ms. Bender. Ms. Schnee said she would get a flyer to the North
County Library and both Chamber locations. She thought it would be a good idea for

someone to take a flyer to the Vero Beach Library. Ms. Schnee asked about the
wording on one of the flyers she had, it didn't say "Educational and Earth Friendly
Booths".
Mr. Kriss gave an update on the missing Letterboxes at the Stormwater Park. The box
at number one is completely gone. He cleared the area around number three. The
others were good. He still needs a book for location number two. Mr. Kriss is going to
go out again to double check all the locations.
Ms. Graves did a presentation to the Parks 8 Recreation Board on February 27th about
Letterboxing. They seemed interested in being involved.

in. Ms. Sieferd mentioned the cleanup with the State that we must do and that one is in
September.

looking for volunteers to help monitor the lagoon. This would be done on an individual
