Gladys was born September 4, 1919, in Waterbury, Connecticut, resided in New Haven, CT, then moved to the lakeside community of Shady Rest in Sandy Hook, Connecticut. She and her husband Ross became winter residents of Roseland and finally permanent residents in Roseland 35 years ago. She had worked as a secretary at Holcomb Oil Company and then MacKenzie Engineering in Newtown, Connecticut until her retirement. Gladys was a Past Worthy Matron of Mirah Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star in Sandy Hook and member of the Roseland Women's Club. Survivors include her daughter Anne P. Bellavita of Vero Beach; son Ross Moeller Griswold Phillips, Jr. and his wife Joan of Vero Beach; grandchildren Steven Avakian of Southbury, Connecticut, Lori Avakian of Vero Beach, Scott Phillips and his wife Kim of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, John Ross Phillips of Vero Beach, and Elizabeth Phillips Lacey and her husband Mark of Middletown, New Jersey; great - grandchildren Taylor Horowitz of Vero Beach, and Madison, Logan and Kassidy Phillips of Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
