Chairperson Graves called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

PROVAL OF MINUTES
A. Meeting of March 5, 2013

MOTION by Mr. Spokas and SECOND by Chairperson Graves to approve the March 5,
2013 minutes.

7. OLD BUSINESS
A. Earth Day Preparations
Chairperson Graves reported approximately 40 vendors have submitted applications so
far. Discussion followed as to whether they should hang the photos for the contest from
fishing line or display them on the stage noting votes would be gathered their booth.
Ms. Sieferd offered to make color coded ballots and ballot containers for the different
contest age groups and to eliminate confusion.

Ms. Graves said the emcee expressed concern with the sound system connections. Ms.
Sieferd offered to escort the emcee to the sound system to have a look or take a picture
of the connection points and e-mail it to him.
Ms. Lucier offered to contact a Zumba instructor to give demonstrations between the
bands on the stage.
Chairperson Graves asked for a volunteer to check in the vendors and suggested they
accept vendors up until the week before the event. Mr. Kriss offered to check in the
vendors at the event.
Mr. Spokas offered to provide activity and coloring pages for the kids. Ms. Lucier said
six bird houses have been constructed so far, her neighbor is offering the make six
more; Home Depot has donated paint, paint brushes, and balloons.
Ms. Lucier also reported there is quite a bit of supplies in the craft box for the kids to use.
Mr. Kriss will bring clothes pins and wire for the photos. Mr. Spokas will also bring
posterboard for the photos. Ms. Sieferd will provide color coded containers to collect the
contest ballots. Chairperson Graves reminded them that someone would need to collect
contact information for the contestants since they would not have to be present to win.
Mr. Spokas offered to make up some simple, condensed handouts for their booth.
Ms. Sieferd reported a City committee must review the vendors that the Board would like
to acknowledge on the City website by noon Thursday. It was the consensus of the
Board that would be too much trouble for now and a poster of the vendors along with
frequent emcee announcements during the event would serve as a thank you.
It was the consensus of the Board to wear their City polo shirts and arrive a little before 7
a.m. the day of the event to set up.
8. NEW BUSINESS

A. Indian River Lagoon Coalition — Recommendation on City Participation to City
Council
Chairperson Graves said the Board should absolutely recommend to City Council that
the City should sign onto the Indian River Lagoon Coalition. Mr. Deredita said that since
the Board will ask City Council to join the Indian River Lagoon Coalition, John Orcutt
may not need to come to speak at their May meeting. Chairperson Graves offered to
request the City's participation in the Coalition at the April 10th Council meeting.
9. MEMBER MATTERS
Chairperson Graves said she would like to get in four island clean ups this year. Mr.
Kriss suggested their picking two dates to give Earth Day participants a choice to
volunteer at an island cleaning. It was decided to schedule clean ups May 4th and June
15th
Mr. Gordian said he received an e-mail from Island Preserve who would like to get some
plantings on Island Number One.
Mr. Spokas asked that agreenerworld.com be added to the City's website.

11. Being no further business, Chairperson Graves adjourned the Natural Resources Board
meeting at 6:54 p.m.
