MIRANDA ( April 09, 1940 - June 23, 2019 ) Helen Miranda passed away on June 23, 2019 at the age of 79 after her battle with pancreatic cancer. Helen's strong will and courageous spirit allowed her to accomplish much in life. Her strength enabled her to fight cancer until the very end. She amazed family, friends and doctors by extending medical expectations by months. Bom in New York, Helen relocated to Florida with her family in 1984 Helen is survived by her children, Linda (Bruce), George (Tara) and Karen (Glenn), her 5 grandchildren, Kayla, Hanna, Coral, George and Glenn, her brother Peter and many nieces and nephews. Helen was a true caregiver. She worked for many years in several nursing homes and enjoyed making memories with family. Helen touched the lives of so many. Helen was a member of St. Helen's Catholic Church. Helen leaves her family with a legacy of traditions. Helen will certainly be rememberedfor her cooking and baking. She took pride in making the holidays special with her cookies and Pierogis. Helen truly loved to share her food with others. In 2017, Helen's Irish Cream Cake took the fust place trophy in the Indian River School District Competition. The family is especially grateful to Dr. Ashley Canipe and Dr. Jennifer Byer, for their hard work, dedication and caring nature that helped extend Helen's life. It was a blessing for the family to have that extra time with Helen and to know she was well cared for. Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Strunk Funeral Home, Sebastian, FL followed by a Celebration of Helen's life at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Deacon Joseph "Joe" John DiMauro, celebrant. Interment will take place at Sebastian Cemetery, Sebastian, FL. Arrangements are entrusted to Strunk Funeral Home, Sebastian, FL.
