Good Morning Arlette: First I would like to apologize for the delay in responding to your request for
information regarding your grandfather's burial site. Donna Cyr, who is the city's records manager was
at a public records seminar and forwarded your mail to me (I maintain cemetery records) on her return.
Your grandfather originally purchased Section 1 of Unit 1, Block 34 which consists of 10 burial lots
numbered 26 to 30 and 36 to 40. Your grandfather John Love Goodwin is interred in Lot 36, his wife,
Ida Mae Goodwin, is buried beside him in Lot 37 and his son, Charles Goodwin is buried beside Ida
Mae in Lot 38. There is a slab on your grandfather's lot but not a marker. Ida Mae Goodwin and
Charles Goodwin both have single slanted pink granite markers. The cemetery sexton is Kip Kelso.
He has been the sexton since 1983 and he said there was no marker on your grandfather's lot since he
has been there. He also said there probably was a marker on your grandfathers lot at one time
because the slab is normally poured and then a marker is put on the slab. He suggests that if you
would like to put a marker on your grandfather's lot that you can contact East Coast Monument in
Melbourne, Florida. The owner's name is J. R. Williford and his telephone number is 321-724-1949.
Also, if you would like to contact Kip, you can reach him at 772-589-2545 or by email at
kkelso @cityofsebastian.org or you can reach me at 772-589-5330 or by email at
arousseau @cityofsebastian.org. If I can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I would like to verify that my Grandfather John Love Goodwin is buried
between his wife Ida May Goodwin and his son Charles Goodwin. I recently
learned that there is no stone for him when my daughter visited to take
photos for me.
I would also like to know who to contact to have a stone placed on his
grave.
Thank you for any help you can give me.
Sincerely,
Arlette Mazarakis
