ADJOURNMENT ANY PERSON WHO DECIDES TO APPEAL ANY DECISION MADE ON THE ABOVE MATTERS, WILL NEED A RECORD OF THE PROCEEDINGS AND MAY NEED TO ENSURE THAT A VERBATIM RECORD OF THE PROCEEDINGS 1S MADE, WHICH RECORD INCLUDES THE TESTIMONY AND EVIDENCE UPON WHICH APPEAL IS TO BE HEARD. SAID APPEAL MUST BE FILED WITH THE CITY CLERK'S OFFICE WITHIN TEN DAYS OF THE DATE OF ACTION. (286.0105 F. S). "To improve the quality of life in Sebastian by nurturing the balanced relationship between our citizens and our environment by protecting, preserving and promoting our natural resources" Chairperson Graves called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. ROLL CALL Present: Robin Graves — Chair Ann Lucier Alan Northcott — Vice Chair Al Alvarez Hank Kriss Jerry Deredita George Millar Gil Gordian APPROVAL OF MINUTES: November 5. 2013 Regular Meeting MOTION by Chairperson Graves and SECOND by Mr. Kriss to approve the November 5, 2013 minutes. ANNOUNCEMENTS — None. PUBLIC INPUT — None. OLD BUSINESS A. Discuss Earth Day 2014 Date Chairperson Graves began the discussion saying that she felt the Easter Egg Hunt and Kids Hooked on Fishing scheduled for April 19th would take away from Earth Day and they should go with April 26th. The rest of the Board Members agreed except for Mr. Gordian who preferred the 19th because of the crowd the three events would draw. On April 19th on the Park's marquee, Mr. Northcott suggested posting, "Earth Day is next week." The Planner said she would check if the shredding event could be held at the same time in the CAVCORP parking lot on April 26th. It was the consensus of the Board to reserve the park and stage in years to come on the Saturday closest to Earth Day. Natural Resources Board Meeting 2 Page Two B. Assignment of Duties Chairperson Graves distributed assignment sheets prior to the meeting. The following members agreed to take the following duties: Ms. Lucier - vendor notification; children's activities Mr. Kriss — vendor check in Mr. Deredita — advertising Mr. Millar — fire permit and extinguishers Mr. Alvarez and Mr. Gordian — music and food Mr. Northcott — entertainment Ms. Graves — children's activities Chairperson Graves asked everyone to start gathering donations for paid advertising. Ms. Lucier said she would also contact food vendors and hopes Florida Veggies, Debbie's Organic Eggs and a bee keeper will speak at future Board meetings in addition to being an Earth Day vendor. Ms. Lucier also offered to contact Home Depot or go to KIRB for children activities. Chairperson Graves said she would look into activities as well. Chairperson Graves asked the Board to think about some contests. Mr. Kriss suggested having people complete a sheet indicating that they visited vendor booths and then the completed sheets would be put in a drawing for a prize at the end of the day. In response to Mr. Millar, Chairperson Graves said the event would be 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and alternative fueled vehicles would be appropriate. 8. NEW BUSINESS — None. 9. MEMBER MATTERS Chairperson Graves handed out links from the Environmental Protection Agency that they might want to put on the website. The Planner reported that depending on what the Board wanted posted, a posting would take two days to a week to add to the website. Chairperson Graves asked that solicitation for Earth Day vendors be posted on website with her and Ms. Lucier's contact information. She also requested upcoming, local events be posted. When the Board forwards a -mails to City staff, the Planner asked them to be specific as to whether they are go on the website or just given for informational purposes. Chairperson Graves included they should indicate where they wanted their information posted on the website. 10. STAFF MATTERS — None. 11.
