Rafferty, 79, died peacefully March 28, 2016 at his home in Barefoot Bay, FL He was born July 27, 1936 in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Highbridge, Bronx. He raised his family in Wantagh, New York and moved to Barefoot Bay, FL in 2013. He was a veteran of the US Army. He received his Associate's Degree in Business from the State University of New York at Farmingdale. He retired as a Cargo Manager with Scandinavian Airlines. George also was an insurance agent for the Knights of Columbus, and owned his own auditing consulting business. George believed strongly in serving God and community. He was dedicated to the Memorare Council of the Knights of Columbus in Seaford, New York, where he served as Grand Knight and District Deputy. He was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church, Barefoot Bay, Florida where he was a Eucharistic Minister. Previously, he served as Eucharistic Minister with St. Frances de Chantal in Wantagh, New York. Survivors include his wife, Janet; daughters, Jennifer Rafferty (John Conway) and Patricia Padula (Francis); son, Chris Rafferty (Beverly Lawler); brothers Jim, Richard & Eugene; sister, Martha Jane; and Grandchildren Joshua, Kieran, Ryan, Keilana, and Natalie.
