MEETING MINUTES
MARCH 24, 2014
The Sebastian Parks and Recreation Committee was called to order by the Chairman.
Roll Call was taken and the following members were present: Mr. Tenerowicz, Mr.
Paschall, Mrs. Nelson, Mrs. White, Mr. Sims and Mrs. Webster, Mrs. Flescher was
absent excused.
Staff members present were Linda Kinchen, Secretary; Chris McCarthy, Parks
Superintendent,
APPROVAL OF MINUTES FEBRUARY 24, 2014
A motion to approve the minutes was made by Mr. Sims, second Mrs. Nelson— passed
unanimously
OLD BUSINESS

Several changes were made with respect to picnic tables and adding the north county
conservation park a change at Riverview park for volleyball not tennis adding Powerline
Road and cycling to the map also the QR code has been update. Trails in the Stormwater
park were changed to purple
It was stated that Bryant Court and Kildare do not have any park signs
NEW BUSINESS; None
PUBLIC INPUT: Malcom Allen- Vero Beach says the map doesnot show any cycling
anywhere — the committee added it.
Jim Sunnycalb — Was invited to Vero Beach Council Meeting about the Dog park People
love the Dog Park — Sunny suggests a gazebo for the dog park so people can have parties
Riverview park — Can we add a bike rack — check the two lights marked with blue tape at
the volleyball court
CHAIRMAN'S MATTERS: Asks Chris why they are allowed to drive in the park for
craft and art club — they are elderly and need to unload. Mr. Paschall says maybe we can
get some push carts for them. Mr. Tenerowicz says we should tell them to pull in unload
and move the cars.
There is car stop broken at Blossom Park and Filbert and George Street have weeds in the
sand — need no skateboarding signs

MEMBERS MATTERS:
Mrs. White says Garden Club park needs a table and the fountain fixed
Mrs. Webster — ballfields — new tables and the recycle bins are great
Mrs. Nelson Hardee park is getting a lot of use
Mr. Paschall doubles tournament this week — water fountain has a leak at Friendship —
Bryant Park has grafitti in the trees but there is nothing you can do about it
Schumann park — Mr. Sims says the playground is in is it done — Chris says no still needs
handicap ramp — Pirate ship can we add to it — Friendship park is the surface the least
expensive.
Mr. Tenerowicz asks again about the impact fee ordinance Chris to meet with attorney to
see if ordinance can be changed.
STAFF COMMENTS:
Concert in the Park this Friday Night Sat April 19th is the Easter Egg Hunt and Earth Day
celebration is April 261h
Next meeting is April 28th, 2014 at 6PM
With no other business to come before the Parks and Recreation Committee, the meeting
adjourned at 6:50 PM
