Re: Your File No. 550 (MP 216 +31161), -
Transfer of License Agreement to City of Sebastian
Dear Dan:
Back in mid- February, this office received a letter from R. W.
Fondren, of the FEC Railway Company, concerning transfer to the
City of Sebastian from the County of the maintenance responsi-
bility with respect to the above railroad crossing. It was my
understanding that the City would be executing a new license
agreement with the railroad and that the County would be released
from the existing agreement. To date I have heard nothing on this
particular matter from either the railroad or the City.
I would greatly appreciate your review of this situation and some
indication as to where we stand. As you are aware, Schumann Drive
was annexed into the City a number of years ago and the County is
no longer maintaining this particular road. I had talked briefly
with Mayor Flood about this matter in December of 1982 and he
instructed me to follow -up with you; your assistance at this time
would be most helpful.
