MEETING MINUTES
JULY 28, 2014
The Sebastian Parks and Recreation Committee was called to order by the Chairman.
Roll Call was taken and the following members were present: Mr. Tenerowicz, Mr.
Paschall, Mrs. Nelson, Mr. Sims, Mrs. Flescher, Mrs. Webster was absent and Mrs.
White was absent excused.
Staff members present were Linda Kinchen, Secretary; Chris McCarthy, Parks
Superintendent,
APPROVAL OF MINUTES JUNE 23, 2014
A motion to approve the minutes was made by Mr. Sims, second Mrs. Flescher, passed
unanimously
OLD BUSINESS: DISC GOLF
Chris speaks on this item says there is one at Wickham park and Malabar Road — Mr
Sims would like to see the ones in Brevard County
Chris says we should do 18 holes recommends the Stormwater park
Mr. Paschall says he has played says the stormwater park would have to be sure it doesn't
cross the trails — Mrs. Flescher and Mrs. Nelson are in favor.
Mr. Tenerowicz to look at before the next meeting put it back on the August Agenda.

CHAIRMAN'S MATTERS:
Mr. Tenerowicz says he was just reappointed to the board and was told he could stay as
chairman or have a vote. Mrs. Flescher nominates Mr. Tenerowicz for chairman second
by Mrs. Nelson passed unanimously.
Mr. Tenerowicz wonders why we are losing little league players but Mrs. Webster is not
present to answer.
Says that Christmas in July shop with a cop was good made $3000 and school starts on
August 1 8th, 2014.

MEMBERS MATTERS:
Mr Sims says football to start at the Barber Street Sports Complex.
Mr. Paschall — Skate Park — several possible ways to expand it can we put a suggestion
box out there about the renovations — concrete would be good maybe swap the skate park
and basketball court. Chris says that is not feasible due to the new building for attendants.
Chris says he told the kids we could have a meeting to see what they want.
Mr. paschal to check out the Palm Bay one it is supposed to be metal.
Mrs. Flescher says put an announcement at the skate park now just before school starts.
Chris will put a suggestion box out there.
Mr. Paschall asks again about the sidewalk on Fleming Street to Collier Creek.
Mrs. Nelson says Hardee Park is getting a lot of activity.
Mrs. Flescher says would like to see a US #1 sign for the Community Center and where
are we on the greenway signs.
Chris gives an update on the tennis wall /racquet ball court says the city manager nixed
the racquet ball court there will only be a tennis wall.
STAFF COMMENTS:
Pickle ball again was brought up
Next meeting is August 25th, 2014
With no other business to come before the Parks and Recreation Committee, the meeting
adjoumed at 6:30 PM
