MEMORANDUM
TO: LT. R. Marini
RE: Sebastian Airport
DATE: August 13, 2007
I have been asked to supply to your office a statement of `purpose and use' relating to a
building being constructed at the Sebastian Municipal Airport.
An airport maintenance storage building has been approved for construction by the
Sebastian City Council, utilizing FAA and FDOT grants, to replace a hurricane destroyed
building on airport property.
The Sebastian Airport's design/engineering consultant, LPA GROUP, INC, has designed
the approved structure. The construction award was granted to AWM Construction of
Ft. Pierce, FL.
The building is a storage building for maintenance equipment. The airport has, for
example, `X' shaped structures that can be used during runway, and/or, taxiway closings.
Maintenance tools and light equipment will also be stored in the building. Storage for
these items has been in a T -Hanger since the destruction of the previous building. It is
not anticipated that the building would be used for the storage of vehicles, except during
an emergency.
