Subject: Sebastian Lakes Wastewater System Interconnect
Dear Mr. Votopka:
As requested we have prepared a cost estimate to install a force main from the Sebastian Lakes
WWTP to the City's existing system. Instead of routing the force main so that it discharges
into the lift station at Caprona, south of Englar, we proposed to manifold into the existing 8 -
inch force main on Schumann Drive. Although slightly more 8 -inch force main was required,
we eliminated one (1) open cut. In summary, approximately 13,000 feet of force main
ranging in diameter from 4 to 8 inches, 11 road cuts, three (3) jack and bores and one (1)
bridge crossing was required. The total cost to connect this system to the City's system was
estimated to be approximately $307,500 and is summarized in Table 1, attached hereto. In
addition, the total estimated project cost included a 7.5 percent contingency for the Contractor
to meet the Bidding General Requirements (i.e., mobilization, insurance, etc.), a 20 percent
contingency for Contractor overhead and profit, and a 10 percent contingency for engineering
and survey.
