Votapka, Utilities Director ;Y� SUBJECT: Status Report on Bidall Enzymes 300 Cultured Bacteria On December 7, 1994, Trenton Perkins asked me about the use of the Bidall Enzymes 300 cultured bacteria he sold to us for use on our lift stations for controlling odor and grease. I talked with Skip Cruce, who told me that he had started using the product on August 29, 1994, in Lift Station No. 1 located at the Caprol Lane and Schumann Drive intersection. He used the product for eleven (11) consecutive days between August 29, 1994, and September 8, 1994. Skip said that he did not visually notice any reduction in the amount of the sludge build-up. Skip also said that he couldn't spray the cultured bacteria properly because it clogged the nozzle of the sprayer that Trenton Perkins had given us. The cultured bacteria is in granular form and it must be mixed properly with water. Otherwise, it will coagulate to block the sprayer nozzle. Votapka, Utilities Director 0 V/ SUBJECT: Cultured Bacteria Today I met with Trenton Perkins, Sales Engineer for Bidall, Lake Wales, Florida (813) 676-5393 in regard to "cultured bacteria". Cultured bacteria are "grease eating" bacteria which can be used in lift stations and in the sludge digester. Cultured bacteria also acts as an odor suppressant. Attached is the HSDS. The product manufactured by Bidall is known as "Enzymes 300" which consists of 3 billion germs/gram. It comes in granular form and one (1) pound is mixed with 5 gallons of water to be sprayed or poured on the walls of the lift station. It can be poured into the digester. Enzymes 300 supposedly works within 15 to 20 minutes and is guaranteed. The end product is water and carbon dioxide. It will not affect concrete or metal. Dosages can actually be reduced over time. The cultured bacteria comes in 100 lb., 50 lb, and 25 lb containers. The price per pound for 50 to 100 lbs. is $9.00. The least amount to be purchased is a 25 lb. container for $10.00 per lb. or $250.00. It may be worth our while to order some and try this product where it will do the most good, such as in Lift Station No's 1 and 2, and the sludge digester at the wastewater treatment plant. Mr. Perkins suggested that the following procedure for use of the cultured bacteria: 1) Na one (1) pound of Enzyme 300 in 5 gallons of water for each lift station. Spray the product on the walls of the lift station as close to the normal -level to which the wastewater rises. 2) The next day, add one (1) gallon of solution to each lift station. Do this for seven (7) consecutive days. 3) After 7 days, mix 1/2 pound per five (5) gallons and spray approximately one (1) gallon in each lift station. 4) After 14 days, we should see very positive results. Then add one (1) gallon per week. Cultured bacteria are "grease eating" bacteria which can be used in lift stations and in the sludge digester. Cultured bacteria also acts as an odor suppressant. Attached is the MSDS. The product manufactured by Bidall is known as "Enzymes 300" which consists of 3 billion germs/gram. It comes in granular form and one (1) pound is mixed with 5 gallons of water to be sprayed or poured on the walls of the lift station. It can be poured into the digester. Enzymes 300 supposedly works within 15 to 20 minutes and is guaranteed. The end product is water and carbon dioxide. It will not affect concrete or metal. Dosages can actually be reduced over time. The cultured bacteria comes in 100 lb., 50 lb, and 25 lb containers. The price per pound for 50 to 100 lbs. is $9.00.
