Background: Staff would like to pursue a grant from the Florida Inland Navigation District (FIND) to assist with the funding for a project entitled Restoration of the Stan Mayfield Working Waterfront Collaborative in the amount of $100,000. It is estimated that overall engineering/architectural cost will be $200,000. This grant is a 50% match. In an effort to assess the building located at 1540 Indian River Drive for structural integrity and formulate options for this structure moving forward, Staff would like to apply for a grant to help offset the engineering and architectural assessment expenses. In 2021, a structural assessment was completed and the estimated restoration of the building was $1.3 million dollars. An updated assessment is needed in order to present options to City Council on how best to proceed with the structure while keeping the City in compliance with the original agreement established with Florida Communities Trust in 2011. Staff is seeking approval to apply for FIND funding in the amount of $100,000 and for authority to the City Manager to execute all application documents.
