During a recent inspection, this office noted the grade crossing at the
above -noted location is in a state of deterioration. In order to main-
tain acceptable levels of surface conditions for both highway and Railway
traffic, we intend to schedule reconstruction work in the coming 90 days.
In accordance with the agreement between your City and the Railway, which
was transferred from Indian River County, certain of these works are the
responsibility of your organization. I have attached an estimate of the
total cost of the project. We have divided the work items between the res-
ponsible parties in accordance with that agreement.
Please note that we have included the cost of the paving activities in this
estimate. The Railway will, at your election, arrange for the performance
of this work as a part of its work planning, if you so wish. Please advise
of your desire in this matter.
May I have acknowledgement of receipt of this letter, and may I have authority
to present billing for payment at the completion of this work.

) The cost estimate provided for the rehabilitation of
the grade crossing reference's the City's expense
at approximately $10, 100. I respectfully request
construction documents, plans & specifications which
will be evaluated by this department to determine if
the City would be interested in seeking proposals
from licensed contractors which would be capable of
installing the approach pavement sections.
