The decision on the environmental resource permit applications will be made at the District's Service Center where the application is processed (if the application is approved) or by the Governing Board (if the application is recommended for denial). For permit modifications, please briefly describe the changes requested to the permit: All Aboard Florida Operations LLC (AAF) is proposing to develop a 235 -mile intercity passenger railroad system that will connect Orlando, Florida and Miami, Florida, with intermediate stops in Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, Florida (Project). The proposed Project will fulfill several public policy objectives, by, among other things, reducing our state s dependence on fossil fuels, relieving transportation congestion in the region and improving air quality as a result. Furthermore, the Project will serve as, a means to enhance job creation and economic development in the state. This ERP Application has been prepared for Segment DO% which is part of the overall Miami to Orlando All Aboard Florida Project Segment D08 of the All Aboard Florida Intercity Passenger Rail Project spans approximately 67 miles from MP 166.9 to MP 233.4, beginning adjacent to SR 528 in eastern Brevard County and extending south to the Indian River St. Lucie County Line. The entire D08 segment was determined to be historically double tracked and an exemption request has been granted for the following proposed activities within the 67 -mile project area: replacing approximately 51 miles of rail that will restore the second main track within the existing FEC corridor; install new additional proposed track totaling 74,250 LF of additional track in additional to the restoration of the historic double track; and installing approximately 3.2 miles of upland train crossovers.
