/Y The following excerpt from State Statute 176.]Y(3) as
mentioned in these requests is quoted for your information.
176.14(3)
"To authorize upon appeal in specific cases such
variance from the terms of the ordinance as will not
be contrary to the public interest, where, owing to
special conditions, a literal enforcement of the
provisions of the ordinance .will result in unnecessary
hardship, and so justice done."

Ra: Variance To Zoning Ordinance
Request that I be granted a variance to the Zoning Ordinance #202
under the provisions of State Statute 176.14(3), whereby I may
be authorized to erect a carport over my existing driveway.
While the above structure will be a literal violation of the
ordinance since there will be an encroachment of about two feet
on the distance required between houses, there will still be
approximately fifteen feet from the edge of the carport to the
next dwelling.
Permission from the abutting property owner has been obtained.
