Toward that effort, the City has sought grant funds to lower the cost. Last year, a grant with Florida DEP (The Coastal Partners Initiative) was sought. Funds from the DEP-CPI were not received. This year, staff is proposing a grant submittal to the Florida Inland Navigation District(FIND) under their Waterways Assistance Program. For your review a grant seeking the maximum 50% match request in the amount of$166,600 has been prepared. Staff has identified that construction and professional service costs to rehabilitate the structure will be approximately $333,200. The City has FY 13 DST funds appropriated for this project. These funds can be used as the City's match. Part of the grant process is to pass a supporting resolution R-13-03. The application deadline is April 1, 2013. Grant award is scheduled for late June 2013 with funds being released October 1, 2013. R-13-03 has been placed on your agenda at this time because one of the grant requirements is that applications be reviewed by the FIND district representative — Indian River County is represented by Bruce Barkett— by March 1, 2013. RECOMMENDED ACTION Staff recommends approval of R-13-03. WORKING WATERFRONT UPDATE Staff continues to negotiate with representatives from Fisherman's Landing Sebastian, Inc. with regard to a lease modification. Staff anticipates that a formal presentation concerning the lease modification will be made to Council at your February 27, 2013 meeting.
